The music of Restoration is a soulful blend of urban hip-hop and R&B, merging acoustic harmonies, rap and beats. Their music is dedicated to those who have no hope.Each band member has personally overcome economic, racial and social barriers, which also affect many young people today. Their heart-felt songs have a message that reminds us that we need to push through the obstacles to fulfill our God-given potential.Restoration has been performing around New Zealand for the past five years, and have appeared on many prime-time TV shows. They continue to develop their music, and more importantly, share their story of hope and restoration with people from all walks of life.Having all lived as troubled youths in Christchurch, the band members can relate to living without hope. Since coming to live together in the Restoration House they have each been cared for by a man named John who has become their mentor and father. He taught them about the change that believing in God can bring, while also teaching them self discipline and life skills. Formerly high school drop-outs and unemployed, each young man now works or studies full time as well as performing with Restoration. Giving back and sharing their story of restoration is whyRestoration sings and performs.

RESTORATION HOUSE
Restoration House started in 2000 and is the place where the band all met and began. As the name suggests, the home is one of restoring broken hearts and lives which each one of the band members have experienced first hand.The house came from working alongside many young people who lived in difficult circumstances, but who each had a desire to start anew and make change. Many struggled with the environment around them to do this effectively. To give these young people the chance for a better life, resources were pooled and a house was rented where those in need could live together with people dedicated to facilitating restoration, giving them the opportunity they were seeking.A clear vision was then established for a place where hurting and broken young men in society could begin to overcome their struggles and pains over time The Restoration House has proven to be an effective way of ministering to those with deep hurts and who feel lost and hopeless. Living in a home environment where people care, re-enforce positive life-skills, and who pray for, encourage and facilitate lasting change gives the young men hope and direction in their lives and consequently the lives of many have since been changed, and they in turn have begun to help others in need.In many ways the ministry sounds simple: giving a home to the homeless and needy. But in reality, life has been the opposite. At times the house has been robbed, threatened, discouraged and criticised. But by far the biggest challenge is to faithfully and consistently care for each another, giving the young people the love and guidance their lives have lacked. Regardless of the circumstances or challenges they have faced, Restoration House has learnt to rely on God's faithfulness to provide in all situations.Today, it is the young people at Restoration House, who contribute toward the running of the home and ministry as they have learnt that it is in offering their lives to God that they are truly Restored unto Him.
